I would like to thank all of our marvelous volunteers and officials for putting on an excellent event. The set up of the carnival on day 1 was exceptionally good and to those hearty souls that pitched in at 6.30am and onwards, you were wonderful! Thank you. All aspects of set up and pack up were covered well this year and it was a good reflection of SAALs strong community spirit and desire to make the Bay Sheffield amazing.

Upcoming Meetings

We kick off 2026 at Brighton Rugby Club on Friday night from 5.50pm with the Brighton Gift Carnival. We look forward to seeing you back out and racing! Handicaps will be released this afternoon.

Sunday 1st February 2026            Camden Classic                                              Late entries close midnight tonight!!!

Home of the most significant 400m races in the SAAL Calendar, a Camden Classic sash is much coveted. This carnival will now also host the prestigious Thomas Wright Memorial Mile.

Friday 13th February 2026            Reynella Gift Carnival                                 

Now Open!

One of the most atmospheric meets on the calendar, Reynella is a great twilight meet with 120s, 300s and 800s on the card.

Saturday 28th February 2026            25th Nippy’s Loxton Gift Carnival            

Now Open!

This year we celebrate the 25th Nippy’s Loxton Gift. Get on board for this fantastic country carnival and make a weekend of it in the beautiful Riverland.

Friday 13th March 2026                 Tea Tree Gully Sprint Skins Carnival        Opening Soon

Joins us for a fun night out at a 50m Skins Carnival! You will get a minimum of 3 races with progressions to the final to be determined on a points basis. Food and drinks will be provided! Noms opening soon!

Sunday 22nd March 2026                Adelaide Hills Picnic Carnival (Mylor)     Opening Soon

Our end of season celebrations will be held at the gorgeous Mylor Oval. We will have 300s as well as fun skins races. Following race conclusion, we will provide free platters, a good old sausage sizzle and soft drinks. Finally, we will be presenting the 2025/2026 Season awards and hopefully relaxing in a fantastic atmosphere. Be sure to pack your picnic rug! Nominations opening soon!

SERIES UPDATES

WILLIAMS BACK TO SCHOOL BOLT

Congratulations to those that competed in the Bay Sheffield Series final! It is now time for the next phase of the Williams Back to School Bolt series. Get your nominations in and keep racing for points to be in with a chance to race in the Stawell Gift Back to School Bolt final. The athlete at the top of the leaderboard after the Adelaide Hills Picnic Carnival will represent South Australia!

UNDER 18 SERIES

Our Mort Daly Running Foundation Under 18 Series continued with 4 races at MDRF Carnival and 5 more at the Bay.

OVER 35 SERIES

Our @supremequiltsaustralia Over 35 Middle Distance series continued with some memorable races at the MDRF and Bay Sheffield Carnivals. Full Leaderboard

The final race of the series will be at the Adelaide Hills Picnic Carnival in Mylor, a 300m Over 35 on the 22nd of March so save the date!

LOST PROPERTY

Please give us a call if you have lost anything at SAAL Carnivals. I would love to give lost items back to their owners! I have 7 sets of blocks and some Sun Glasses that were left at the Bay Sheffield which will be available for collection at upcoming Carnivals.
